42.7mm stainless steel case, automatic movement, white/silver dial, stainless steel bracelet.

In 1970, Seiko introduced a diver's watch whose asymmetrical extension protected the crown at the four o'clock position. Its solid construction, luminous hands and indexes and 150 meter water resistance were perfect for those who required a timepiece with exceptional strength and visibility. The watch proved its reliability in extreme conditions when it was worn by the Japanese adventurer, Naomi Uemura, in the years 1974 to 1976 when he completed a 12,500km solo dog-sled run from Greenland to Alaska.

PROSPEX 1970 DIVER'S MODERN RE-INTERPRETATION SAVE THE OCEAN SPECIAL EDITION

1970 Diver's Watch Re-interpretation Save the Ocean Special Edition. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, the Seiko Prospex line meets every challenge with technological excellence and style. Inspired by the intricacies of glacial formation, this Special Edition is themed to evoke the ice of Arctic regions, including the North Pole, where legendary adventurers such as Naomi Uemura relied on Seiko diver's watches to meet every challenge, Today, it advances that unique history in support of the Seiko "Save the Ocean" campaign, dedicated to marine conservation. This masterfully updated design is crafted of stainless steel with super-hard coating, and includes a curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal, blue uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel, and screw-down crown and case-back. THE white dial capturing the glacial seascape of the Artic is encased in the same distinctive shaped case as the 1970 classic which proved its strength and endurance when worn by the Japanese adventurer Naomi Uemura. The timepiece features a date calendar and LumiBrite hands and markers. Following ISO standards for scuba diving to depths of up to 200 meters, this exceptional watch offers manual winding capability and includes a 24-jewel automatic movement with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. 200m Water Resistant.
