The Khaki Aviation Pilot Pioneer takes its inspiration from a pocket watch we produced in WWII – the Model 23. A cutting-edge chronograph of its time, it was of particular use to U.S. Army Air Force navigators, and we supplied them with more than 27,000 Model 23 pocket watches during the war.
While the Model 23 was a chronograph and the Khaki Aviation Pilot Pioneer is not, it retains an indisputably technical feel with a bi-directional rotating bezel and a prominent winding crown in reference to the ‘onion’ crowns of vintage aviation watches. Available in 43mm, the Khaki Aviation Pilot Pioneer recreates the classic pilot watch aesthetic of the Model 23 with ultra-legible numerals, cathedral hands and an authentic railway track outer scale.
Powered by the ETA 6498-1 mechanical movement, the larger hand-winding wristwatch features a distinct small-seconds dial and is available with a sleek stainless steel.
