47mm carbon case, automatic movement with altimeter function in feet, black cut-out dial, dial, black textile strap.
Oris’s high-functioning pilot’s watch is back, now with an increased altitude scale of either 19,700 feet or 6,000 metres, and an innovative carbon fibre case.
Meet the new ProPilot Altimeter, the world’s only watch to combine a mechanical altimeter with an automatic mechanical movement.
Higher, slimmer, lighter
The second generation piece is better than ever: higher, slimmer, lighter.
Higher: because thanks to a new pressure box, it can now gauge altitude up to 6,000 metres or 19,700 feet, depending on which model you go for.
Slimmer: because we’ve upgraded the movement to the thinner Calibre 793, which also has a bigger 56-hour power reserve. The watch is 1mm thinner than the previous generation.
Lighter: because its case is made of a pioneering carbon fibre and PEKK composite we’ve brought into watchmaking for the first time. The new watch weighs just 98 grams, a drop of 70 on the outgoing model.
The ProPilot Altimeter’s case is produced using a unique “additive manufacturing and moulding” process developed by our Swiss partner 9T Labs. This is different to normal 3D-printing, which is mainly for prototyping. We can industrialise manufacturing and use the technology to produce structural end-use parts at high volumes. This is a real breakthrough.
