The story behind the Oris Ocean Trilogy box
The Oris Blue Whale Limited Edition is available exclusively as part of the Oris Ocean Trilogy, a limited edition of 200 sets of three Oris diver's watches that comes in a presentation case made of recycled PET plastic. The trio of watches also includes the Oris Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III and the Oris Clean Ocean Limited Edition.
The Oris Blue Whale Limited Edition
The Oris Blue Whale Limited Edition is a diver's chronograph inspired by the blue whale. Blue whales are not only majestic, they are also critical to the health of the oceans, keeping krill and plankton populations balanced. But there are only around 10,000 of them remaining. This gradient petrol blue-dialled watch, the first chronograph in the Aquis range to carry a 3, 6 and 9 configuration, raises awareness of this story. The Blue Whale is limited to 200 pieces and can only be found in the Trilogy Box set. The Blue Whale, Great Barrier Reef III and the Clean Ocean are all matched number Limited Editions.
The Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition III
Oris returns to the Great Barrier Reef with a third limited edition watch, this time introduced as part of the independent Swiss watch company's new series, The Oceans Project, aimed at raising awareness of the many threats to the health of the world's oceans. The new watch, which is based on Oris's high-performance Aquis diver's watch, will directly support the coral planting activities of Reef Restoration Foundation, an Australian non-profit. It features a gradient blue dial, a blue ceramic bezel insert and a novel circular date window.
The Clean Ocean Limited Edition
As part of its mission to 'Go Your Own Way', Oris is striving to bring change for the better by behaving in a more ecologically friendly way. As well as introducing more sustainable materials and manufacturing techniques, it also means raising awareness. The Oceans Project is at the forefront of that ambition, highlighting the threat posed to the world's oceans by plastic. The Clean Ocean Limited Edition is based on the high-functioning Oris Aquis diver's watch. Each of the 2,000 pieces created carries a unique medal made of recycled plastic inserted into the case back.
