Seiko Prospex 1965 Diver SPB213 140th Anniversary Limited Edition Automatic (White Dial / 40.5mm)
40.5mm stainless steel case, automatic movement, white dial, blue bezel, stainless steel bracelet. Limited edition of 6,000 pieces worldwide.
In celebration of Seiko’s 140th anniversary, Kintaro’s vision is now realised in a series of four limited edition watches that, together, show the range of Seiko’s watchmaking expertise, from automatic to GPS Solar. From Prospex, a modern re-interpretation of Seiko’s first ever diver’s watch from 1965. The wide hands and generously applied Lumibrite deliver high visibility while the screw-down crown and case-back ensure 200 meter water resistance. The watch is shaped to sit easily on the wrist and a Zaratsu polished line accentuates the smooth curve of the case. A limited edition of 6,000.
Seiko Prospex challenges every limit, with a collection of timepieces for sports lovers and adventure seekers whether in the water, in the sky or on land. Since launching Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko’s innovative technology has changed global standards. We are constantly striving to bring ever greater reliability and safety to both professional and recreational divers.
1965 Diver's Watch Reinterpretation. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, the Seiko Prospex line meets every challenge with technological excellence and style. Part of a rich legacy of innovation in high-intensity timekeeping, Prospex continues to celebrate a long history of sports watch excellence with recreations and reinterpretations of landmark achievements. This versatile timepiece re-imagines Seiko's 1965 first diver's watch, an automatic timepiece with a then exceptional water resistance of 150 meters. Offering an extraordinarily legible dial and durable enough to become standard equipment on the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE), this landmark timepiece propelled Seiko into the forefront of dive watch design. With contemporary styling and upgraded specifications, this new reinterpretation reflects the look of the 1965 original, but with a sleeker and thinner case designed to fit more comfortably on the wrist. The white dial, framed by a blue one-way rotating elapsed timing bezel, includes a date calendar and LumiBrite hands and markers. Upgraded from the original, the 24-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and can be wound manually or automatically. Crafted of stainless steel with super-hard coating, this superbly functional timepiece features a dual-curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal, screwdown crown and caseback, and tri-fold push button release clasp with secure lock and extender, and follows ISO standards for scuba diving to depths of up to 200 meters. 200m Water Resistant.
